About Our Restaurant
History of Maple Corner Restaurant

Maple Corner Restaurant was founded  in 1931 by Bill and Sadie Young as a roadhouse. Through the years it has grown with one dining room addition after another to seat more than 550 people. Tiffany-style windows and lamps give each room its own unique atmosphere. For eighty plus years we've served wood-grilled steaks, our famous Catfish, seafood, homemade breads and salad dressings and more.

Maple Corner had a  few owners over the years, but only three major owners during most of it's 83 years plus history. After the Young's retired the restaurant was bought by Jim and Jean Cunningham, they operated Maple Corner for thirty-one years.

Maple Corner and Covington saw a new owner emerge in 2006 - local resident and farmer Mike Stump and his wife Shozet, The Stumps wanted to be a part of an Indiana legend and bought the whole restaurant's famous fixtures, the Wurlitzer, the Hummel, the stained glass windows, and all ninety-nine Tiffany style hanging lamps.

The Stumps now have operated the restaurant  for the past eight years. While Mike says he "would like to retire some day", he plans on continued operations, "...until someone comes along with the same dream." If that might be you - Click "Own A Legend" link below.

In the mean time: For many years Friday Night offers "Marinated Prime Rib" for the special.  And of course our famous Catfish. ~ Each Sunday there is a special dinner too, a tradition for decades.

ALSO ~ Maple Corner has banquet and party facilities.  Several private rooms that can seat 12 to 150 people. Each room is beautifully decorated and the perfect place for reunions, business meetings, holiday parties, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners or about any occasion. We have hosted thousands of parties for eight decades and more.
